Prayer Guide:  Reflection on Psalm 34

  1. Praise/Adoration.

Psalm 34:1 says:

I will bless the Lord at all times;  His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Fill in the blanks (Do this out loud and even write them down).

  • God, I praise you for who you are.  You are  _________________________.

  • I praise you for what you’ve done.  Thank you that you are the God that __________________________________.

  1. Response

Psalm 34:4-5 says:

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Try to choose one of these three options:

  • Take a moment and reflect on time(s) when God delivered you from a specific fear.  How are you prompted to respond?

  • Is there any current fear that you need to give to the Lord?

  • Is there any other area that you are sensing that you need to confess to God and/or someone else?

  1. Sharing/Asking.

Psalm 34:6 says

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles

Psalm 34:18 says:

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Heavenly Father you have promised that you will hear our cries.  You are eager and faithful to save.  I need you to save

  • in this situation: _________________________

  • with this relationship: _________________________

Take some time to pray for each other or anyone else that the Holy Spirit brings to your mind.

  1. Praise/Readiness.

Psalm 34:19 says

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Heavenly Father, I am trusting you to deliver me from _________________________.

Take a moment to listen to what God might be saying to you.  Is there anything that He is asking of you?

Take 30 seconds (or more) to speak out loud to God what you find most comforting or encouraging about who He says He is.

Worship through Giving

Thank you for your continued support of the work God is doing through GBF.  It is encouraging to see God’s provision for this church through your giving during this strange time.

If you consider GBF your church home we invite you to give financially in the following ways:

  • Send an e-transfer to info@gbfchurch.org (make the password “Offering” or send a separate email with the password you used)

  • Stop by the church office Mon-Thursday to use the debit machine.  Call the office 780-568-4360 or Pastor Jason 780-228-0823 to make sure someone is there

  • Send a cheque via mail

Connecting Challenges for the week

  • We want to hear from you.  It would be great to be able to encourage each other with short testimonies of what you’re learning.  Send a note to worshipgbf@gmail.com so we can hear from you.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal one person to you that he would like you to connect with.  Make an intentional plan to contact that person and encourage them with one thing that God is teaching you during this time.
