Prayer Guide:  2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Read 2 Cor 1:3-4 (NIRV)

3 Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  He is the Father who gives tender love.  All comfort comes from him.  

4 He comforts us in all our troubles.  Now we can comfort others when they are in trouble. We ourselves receive comfort from God

  1. Praise/Adoration.

Begin by giving praise to God.  Speak out words or phrases that describe why you can praise God.

  1. Response

Describe a time when you were comforted by another person.

Does God comfort you?  

How does he comfort you?

  1. Sharing/Asking.

Share something that you need God to comfort you about.  Speak to someone in your group or reach out to someone.  God often uses others in the church family to comfort us.

  1. Praise/Readiness.

How is God calling you to comfort someone else?

Take 30 seconds (or more) to speak out loud to God what you find most comforting or encouraging about who He says He is.

  • Stop by the church office Mon-Thursday to use the debit machine.  Call the office 780-568-4360 or Pastor Jason 780-228-0823 to make sure someone is there

  • Send a cheque via mail

Connecting Challenges for the week

  • In the prayer section today, you were asked if God is calling you to comfort someone.  Purposefully plan to do this at least one time this week.  That might mean a phone call, a text, an encouragement card, a driveway chat, or something entirely different!

  • If someone has comforted you, share your story with the rest of the church family.  Send your story to worshipgbf@gmail.com.
