Prayer Guide:  Ephesians 1:3-6a (NIRV)

Read Ephesians 1:3-6a

3 Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.  Those blessings come from the heavenly world.  They belong to us because we belong to Christ.

4 God chose us to belong to Christ before the world was created.  He chose us to be holy and without blame in his eyes. He loved us.

5 So he decided long ago to adopt us as his children with all the rights children have.  He did it because of what Jesus Christ has done.  It pleased God to do it.  

6 All those things bring praise to his glorious grace.  God freely gave us his grace because of the One he loves.

  1. Praise/Adoration.

Begin by giving praise to God.  Speak out words or phrases that describe why you can praise God.  

  1. Response

Think about and then discuss:

  • What are some of the “spiritual blessings” that God has blessed us with?

  • What rights do children have?

  1. Sharing/Asking.

God, the perfect Father, tells us that His children have the right to come to him at any time.  He doesn’t get tired, he isn’t too busy, he wants to hear from you, His child.  Come to Him, bringing your requests with confidence.

  1. Praise/Readiness.

Spend 30 seconds (or more) to ask God to reveal through the Holy Spirit, something that he would have you do this week to encourage a fellow brother or sister in Christ.  Perhaps he’s calling you to invite someone else to become an adopted daughter or son.

Worship through Giving

  • Send a cheque via mail

Connecting Challenges for the week

  • Draw, paint, colour, sculpt, or build a picture of one of the scenes from Daniel.  Classic scenes would be Daniel in the Lions Den, or the friends in the furnace.  

As we get closer to the end of our study in Daniel, think about what has stood out the most.  You are challenged to share that - send your response to worshipgbf@gmail.com
